Light lowland snow possible Sunday, early Monday

Sunday night’s snow potential is even more uncertain as we could still have some lingering moisture around, but it’s not a guarantee. Given it was a warmer day Sunday, this moisture will fall mainly as rain (where it still exists) into Sunday night. However, as we get later in the evening well after dark and especially toward midnight heading into Monday morning, we could get some light snow accumulations mainly above 1000′.

We’ll still be mainly expecting any lowland snow that falls Sunday night or early Monday morning to melt on contact with road surfaces but a few lucky spots could whiten up for a bit Sunday night.

Outside of the aforementioned areas of Whatcom County, Hood Canal and highest foothills above 1,000 feet, neither of these above situations should present travel trouble.

Monday will be drier after some lingering snow flurries early. But on Tuesday through Wednesday, some moisture could be around again. It’s not looking like much, but we could see light rain showers or light snow through this period, with the best chances for lowland snow being in the overnight and early morning. Snowfall amounts still look like nothing to maybe a slushy inch up north and above 500 feet on the higher hills – still nothing to be too excited about.

We’ll dry out a bit and get a little milder late next week.
