...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 2 PM
The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Coastal
Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM to 1 PM PST
Saturday. A Coastal Flood Advisory has also been issued from
11 AM to 2 PM PST Sunday.
* SOUTH WASHINGTON COAST TIDES...Total tide at Toke Point is
forecast to be 11.3 feet Saturday (10 am to noon) and then 11.5
feet Sunday (11 am to 1 pm).
* NORTH OREGON COAST TIDES...Total tide at Astoria is forecast to
be 9.9 feet today (10 AM to noon) and then 10.2 feet Sunday (11
AM to 1 pm).
* IMPACTS...Overflow flooding for the South Washington coast is
most likely to occur in low-lying areas near bays and sloughs,
highways 6 and 101, the towns of Raymond and South Beach and
lower reaches of coastal rivers. For the North Oregon coast,
one of the more susceptible areas for flooding is along Fraser
Road in Tillamook County.
A Coastal Flood Advisory for Minor Tidal Overflow indicates that
coastal and inland flooding of low lying areas is expected due to
elevated river levels combined with high astronomical tides.
Property damage can occur, but is usually localized. Low-lying
roads may be closed due to high water.
