    Updated:

Highways across the state will be busy Monday with heavy Memorial Day traffic as people return from their weekend trips.

Drivers should be prepared for longer wait times at ferry docks and Canadian border crossings.

From Thursday to Tuesday, the Washington State Ferries projected about 500,000 people to ride the ferry for Memorial Day weekend.
