Man killed in violent crash in Algona

ALGONA, Wash. — A man who was seen driving recklessly later died in a violent crash in Algona Monday.

Algona police said they had tried to stop the driver for reckless driving on West Valley Highway, but did not pursue the car when it failed to stop.

Officers later found the car crashed into pole. The driver was killed and the passenger, also a man, was taken to the hospital.

West Valley Highway is closed between First Avenue North and Third Avenue North.
