She led the Oklahoma market in reporting and anchoring breaking news. She also led the station’s wall-to-wall coverage of severe weather, President Obama's visit, the 20th anniversary of the Murrah Building Bombing, and the rape trial of a former Oklahoma City police officer. Her reports on record-setting floods and tornado damage were featured on CBS This Morning. This is not Rachel's first stint as a traffic anchor: She spent 2 years at KOCO also in Oklahoma City, as the morning traffic and news anchor.

Rachel's career began in morning TV nearly two decades ago as the morning anchor at KGWN in Cheyenne Wyoming. A year later she returned to her home state of Michigan to anchor and report for WILX in Lansing. In 2004 she went overseas to serve as a field producer for NBC Sports at the Athens Olympics. When she returned to the U.S. she continued her role as the weekend anchor for WXMI in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Some of her most memorable stories she covered in her home state: the funerals of civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks and former President Gerald Ford. Rachel moved to Los Angeles, California in 2007 to join the KTLA Morning News as a breaking news reporter.

Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California (Go Trojans!). She began volunteering in high school and continues to do so for several worthy causes. She has worked closely with Children's Hospital Foundation after her daughter became seriously ill. She also ran a half marathon in honor of her mother who is battling blood cancer. Rachel’s work raised much needed research dollars for Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Rachel is a former Michigan chapter president of the Asian American Journalist Association, and enjoys mentoring future journalists.

Rachel loves to travel (she’s been to 41 out of 50 states and every year adds stamps to her passport). She enjoys tennis, Zumba and ballroom dance, but you’ll also find her searching for healthy meals that cook under 30 minutes. Rachel and her husband Justin are proud parents of two very active kids and live in Seattle’s eastside. Send her an email any time with story ideas or great places to explore in the Pacific Northwest with toddlers in tow!
