Seattle Storm to visit White House to celebrate WNBA Championship

SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm will be visiting the White House next week to celebrate the team’s fourth WNBA Championship in 2020.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will be meeting the team on Monday.

In attendance will be the 2020 WNBA Champion Storm players, coaches, staff, the ownership group, Storm President and CEO Alisha Valavanis and WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

According to a news release, Biden will honor work the team has done off the court, including the Storm’s Force4Change Initiative.

The Storm is the first women’s team to visit the White House under Biden and the first WNBA squad to be honored with a White House ceremony since 2015.

The ceremony will happen at the White House South Lawn at 12:30 Pacific Time.

The White House ceremony will be broadcast on NBA TV and streamed on WhiteHouse.gov and WNBA.com.
