Wash. home prices rising faster than any other state

SEATTLE — Home prices in Washington are rising faster than any other state in the country for the first time in 25 years.

Washington home prices rose 10.6 percent this year compared to a year ago, double the national average.

Oregon and California rounded out the top three.

County by county, the numbers are astonishing.

According to the Seattle Times, the median home value in King County is up nearly 50 percent from a year ago and nearly 10 percent in Pierce and Snohomish counties.

The trend just bumped Washington into the top three most expensive housing states in the nation along with California and Hawaii.
