BALTIMORE — With emotions running high in America’s cities as demonstrators protest the death of George Floyd and racial injustice, a girl in Baltimore cut through the tension with a loving gesture.
As protesters gathered at City Hall, a girl waved at police officers in riot gear and walked over to them, WJZ reported. She began hugging them, and officers knelt down to receive her embrace, WJZ reported.
The girl’s hugs were a welcome respite for the protests in the city. While thousands of people marched peacefully Monday afternoon, there were arrests during the night as protesters clashed with police, the television station reported.
