Abbeville police were called to the motel after staff found drugs in Arizona Tea cans with false tops, KLFY reported.

Investigators collected eight, 1-ounce packages of methamphetamines in the cans as evidence and left. However, they were called back shortly later, when Paradise Thornton, 28, returned to the motel and threatened staff for the cans.

She fled the area but surveillance video led police to her location where she was taken into custody shortly later.

Thornton was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice, KLFY reported. She is being held in jail without bond.
