WATCH: Sleeping drivers of 2 separate vehicles arrested in Michigan McDonald’s drive-thru

TROY, Mich. — Drunk drive-thruing, itself, might not be a crime, but two Michigan drivers might think twice before doing it again after authorities arrested them both in a Troy McDonald’s.

A video posted on the Troy Police Department Twitter account shows officers arriving around 3 a.m. Feb. 15 to a McDonald’s in response to a report that three people were sleeping in the drive-thru.

When officers arrived, they approached two separate vehicles and found both drivers asleep at their respective wheels, MLive reported.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the drivers did not know one another, but both admitted to having “a couple of drinks” to police.

Police confirmed to MLive that one of the driver’s blood alcohol level was .16, or twice the legal limit, while the other recorded a level of .13. Both were arrested for driving under the influence.
