WATCH: Australian toddler rescued after falling off platform, under train

SYDNEY — An Australian toddler is safe after she fell off a platform and under a train Monday morning, officials said.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corp. and News Corp. Australia, the incident happened about 9:15 a.m. local time when the girl slipped while stepping off a train at Wolli Creek Station in Sydney.

Three good Samaritans sprang into action, jumping onto the tracks after a guard told the train’s driver what had happened, the news outlets reported. Joseph Mourtada captured video as the men looked for the child. Moments later, someone can be seen carrying the girl and reuniting her with her mother.

Sydney Trains said the girl was OK, News Corp. reported.

“Thankfully, the toddler was unharmed, but incidents such as this serve as an important reminder that the gap between the train and the platform can vary across the network, and our staff are always happy to help if you require assistance,” a spokeswoman told the news outlet.
