EL MONTE, Calif. — A man is dead and four people are hurt after a shooting and wreck Monday in Southern California, officials said.

According to KABC and KTTV, El Monte police and Los Angeles County fire crews responded about 7:30 p.m. to the scene of a multi-car crash on Mountain View Road in El Monte. Authorities arrived to find a man, who had suffered a gunshot wound, dead behind the wheel of one vehicle, the news outlets reported.
Four other people suffered injuries, including two who were critically wounded, officials said. One victim was a pregnant woman, according to KTTV. Investigators have not revealed the types of injuries or how they occurred.
No further details, including the identities of the people involved, were immediately available.
