DECATUR, Ala. — The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service on Saturday expanded its recall of more than 15 tons of ready-to-eat chicken breast fillets that may be undercooked to include an additional 554,745 pounds of the product.
The previous recall involved only 30,285 pounds of potentially undercooked chicken.

According to FSIS, the products affected by the expanded recall were produced between Feb. 9 and April 30 and include the following:
- Nine-pound cases containing eight packages of six-ounce “All Natural Fire Grilled Chicken Breast” with “use by” dates ranging from May 10, 2022, to April 29, 2023.
- Nine-pound cases containing 12 packages of four-ounce “All Natural Fire Grilled Chicken Breast” with “use by” dates ranging from May 10, 2022, to April 29, 2023.
- Six-pound cases containing 24 individual, four-ounce packages of “All Natural Fire Grilled Chicken Breast” with a “use by” date of March 5, 2023.
- 16-ounce zippered plastic packages containing “Chef’s Craft Chicken Breast Fillet” with establishment number P-20214 and a “use by” date of March 23, 2023.
Per FSIS, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 20214″ on the case and packaging.
The affected items were shipped to distributors nationwide and further distributed to restaurants and retail locations. The retail locations are in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the recall stated.
A customer complaint prompted an investigation and subsequent recall, but no adverse reactions linked to the recalled products have been reported to date.
The agency is concerned, however, that some of the recalled products may be in consumers’ or restaurants’ freezers or refrigerators, and consumers are advised to not eat the products. Meanwhile, restaurants are urged not to serve the products and to discard all affected products or return them to the place of purchase.
