Recall alert: Kohl’s recalling more than half a million candles, citing fire, burn risks

Kohl’s has recalled more than 500,000 candles due to fire and burn hazards.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall affects about 512,000 Sonoma Goods For Life branded three-wick candles, following reports that high flames can ignite the surface of the wax or cause the glass to break.

The recalled candles, which were sold at Kohl’s locations nationwide and online at www.Kohls.com between December 2019 and October 2020 for about $20, come in glass containers with metal lids.

A total of 30 different models and fragrances are affected, ranging from the Mango Margarita-scented “Live Simply” model to the holiday cookies-scented “Oh What Fun” model. Click here to see the complete list.

The fragrance, style number, UPC and date code can be located on the label on the bottom of the glass container.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled candles immediately and return them to the nearest Kohl’s store. Patrons with a receipt will receive a full refund, while those without a receipt will receive a store credit.
