A popular ceiling fan model sold at home improvement chain Lowe’s is being recalled after reports of blade breakage and at least 10 injuries to consumers.
The 48-inch fans were sold at Lowe’s stores nationwide and online between May 2014 and January 2016 for about $150 each, WTHR reported.
According to WXTV, the model number – which can be found on the fan motor and inside the battery compartment cover of an included hand-held remote control – is LP8294LBN, and the UPC code is 840506599178.
The recalled fan features two dark walnut fan blades, brushed nickel blade arm holders and a frosted white glass globe containing a light bulb.
Consumers are urged to stop using the fan immediately and contact the company for a free set of replacement blade holders. Fanim Industries can be reached at 888-434-3797 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday, or via email at email@example.com.
