Preschooler dragged by school bus in Maryland

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A preschooler’s backpack got stuck in her school bus door, and the driver drove off without noticing, dragging the child for a short time, WBAL reported.

The student, who was not identified, is 4 years old and attends Pinegrove Elementary School in Baltimore County, Maryland, The Baltimore Sun reported.

It happened just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, WBAL reported.

A police spokesperson said “the driver proceeded forward a short distance” but didn’t say exactly how far, according to the newspaper.

The little girl was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Police are investigating.
