Robert Castillo, 40, is accused of stabbing his wife, Corinna Woodhull, while the two were part of a Bible study at the home of Castillo’s sister.

Saint Paul Police Department officers were called to the home at approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a woman being stabbed. When officers arrived, people were holding a man down, and a woman was “suffering from apparent stab wounds to her upper body,” police said in a news release.

According to the criminal complaint, during the Bible study, Castillo held hands with his wife and kissed her then leaned over and whispered into her ear. After Woodhull shook her head “no,” Castillo pulled out a knife and started stabbing her.

According to court records, Castillo had felony convictions for attacking a woman with a hammer, and repeatedly stabbing a roommate.
