Gregg Shore earned a six-figure salary as the second-highest prosecutor in the Bucks County District Attorney Office, The New York Times reported. He said the reasons he took the delivery job were personal.

“I made the incredibly poor decision to deliver during the workday at times,” he told KYW. “In doing so I realize that I betrayed my boss, my colleagues, and most importantly, the citizens of Bucks County.”

Shore earned $125,435 in 2019, according to public records. He was a prosecutor for 19 years. He was named first assistant in 2017, KYW reported. He previously worked for the Pennsylvania attorney general and Lehigh County. He also served as the state’s deputy secretary of labor from 2011 to 2015.

He was demoted Thursday.

“What he has done is indefensible, thoughtless, selfish and so stupid. It’s senseless,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. “I don’t know why he did this. Only he has the answer, and I’ll admit to you, I’m very angry and I’m upset.”

Weintraub said Shore was not fired because of his record of public service. Shore used his accrued vacation time to repay the county the time he worked his side job, WTXF reported. He was replaced by Jennifer M. Schorn, who has worked at the office since 1999.

“Will he be able to withstand the pressure and the scrutiny and the shame that his conduct has brought upon himself?” Weintraub said. “I don’t know. But for now, I’m giving him that chance. He has a shot at redemption.”

DoorDash said drivers earn from $2 to $10 for each delivery plus tips and bonuses, The Times reported.
