Sandwiched around a $1,000 prize he won earlier this year, a man from Baltimore County recently won a $100,000 prize to go along with a $10,000 payout last year, Maryland Lottery officials said in a news release.

The 47-year-old, whose name was not released by lottery officials, won the $100,000 on a $30 Lucky scratch-off ticket. The man bought the winning ticket at a Walmart in Dundalk, an unincorporated town east of Baltimore.

“I was shocked,” the man said.

The man bought the $100,000 ticket at a lottery kiosk at the Walmart, lottery officials said. After scanning it, the man noticed a message to “take to lottery” from the lottery machine.

Believing it was a small amount, the man left the store. But after getting in his car, the man decided to scratch the ticket. That’s when he found the six-figure jackpot.

The man went home to share the news with his wife and children, who were equally surprised.

The winner said he has worked for a cook for 20 years, but said he had no plans to stop working. In the news release, the man said he will use the winnings to buy a rental property.

Meanwhile, the Walmart will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

Sixty-one of the $100,000 scratch-off jackpots still remain, lottery officials said.
