The North Augusta Department of Public Safety told WRDW that a man wearing a black ski mask walked into a Waffle House early Friday with a handgun and told employees to open the register. When one of them did, and put all of the money into a to-go bag and handed it to the robber, the gunman replied, “God bless you, I did not want to hurt anyone,” police told the station.

Police told WJBF that they believe the robber fled the scene in a car that was heading into Georgia.

Nobody was hurt, and police did not say how much money was taken in the robbery.

Investigators told WJBF that they believe they found the robber’s mask in the middle of a road nearby.
