FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Florida woman feels upset and insulted after Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady threw the Lombardi Trophy boat-to-boat during a Super Bowl parade.
Brady was seen throwing the championship trophy from his boat to another one about 20 feet away during the celebration in a widely viewed video.
Lorraine Grohs watched in horror. Her father was the master silversmith at Tiffany and Company from 1967 to 1994 and crafted the first trophy, WFTX reported.
“It just upset me that this trophy was disgraced and disrespected by being thrown as if it was a real football,” she told WFTX. “I have a big history of this trophy being made by my father and it’s such an honor and I know all the craftsmen that made it when my dad was there also at Tiffany’s and it takes a lot of hard work.”
She hopes the seven-time Super Bowl champ makes things right with her.
“I personally would like an apology,” she said. “Not just to me and my family and the other silversmiths but to the fans, all the football fans the other team players.”
