According to a news release, officers encountered a black Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 24-year-old male U.S. citizen entering from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge.

Investigators discovered 24 packages of the suspected meth, weighing nearly 113 pounds, concealed within the sport utility vehicle’s tires, the agency stated.

“This is a significant load of narcotics, and it reflects the unrelenting determination of our frontline officers to uphold our border security mission and prevent these drugs from reaching our streets,” Carlos Rodriguez, director of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry, stated.

Border patrol officers seized both the narcotics and the vehicle, and the case remains under investigation by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigation.
