Democratic National Convention: Day 3 features Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama; livestream

Sen. Kamala Harris will make history Wednesday night when she accepts the nomination for vice president from the Democratic Party.

Harris will be the third woman ever to be nominated for the number two slot on a major American political party’s ticket, and the first woman of color.

Harris will be giving her speech at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware, which is a waterfront events venue.

The party’s 2016 nominee, Hillary Clinton, will speak on Wednesday night, as well. Clinton will offer praise for Democratic nominee Joe Biden and will mark the historic nature of his choice of Harris as a running mate, according to those familiar with her speech.

Clinton will also speak about how important her mother was in her life and how both Biden and Harris have said the same about their mothers.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, who ran against Biden for the nomination, will also appear, as will House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.

Former President Barack Obama will speak at the end of the night about Biden and how he came to choose him as a running mate and vice president.
