Coronavirus: With mom’s help, Tennessee triplets mark 16th birthday with social distancing party

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — While many special events have been canceled during the novel coronavirus pandemic, some people have discovered unusual ways to celebrate safely.

According to WHBQ-TV, a set of triplets from Memphis, Tennessee, recently marked their “sweet 16” in a unique way.

Kelsey, Caleb and Cameron Morgan celebrated their birthday over the weekend.

"Cherish the moments you have,” Cameron Morgan said. “You never know what is going to happen. Like this coronavirus. We didn't know this was going to happen."

As the triplets saw schools and businesses across the country close because of COVID-19, the last thing on their minds was a birthday bash.

But their mother, Candace Morgan, made their birthday one to remember by throwing a social distancing party Saturday and encouraging friends and family to send videos wishing the triplets a happy birthday.

"We probably did more than what we usually would,” Candace Morgan said. “Everything from an obstacle course, fashion show, karaoke."

Guests came over in shifts throughout the day, each person required to wear a mask, get their temperature checked and get screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

“It brought out our creative side,” Kelsey Morgan said. “We’ve done it all. I preferred it this way than going to a building.”
