Coronavirus: RM, Jin of BTS test positive for COVID-19

Two more members of the K-pop sensation BTS have tested positive for COVID-19 after returning to South Korea from the U.S., the group’s management company said Saturday.

Rapper RM and vocalist Jin tested positive one day after Big Hit Music announced that another member, Suga, tested positive for the viral infection, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency. They had arrived in South Korea after performing shows in California last month, the news agency and Rolling Stone reported.

All three BTS members were fully vaccinated in August, Big Hit Music officials said, according to Reuters.

According to the management company, RM, 27, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, tested positive while preparing to leave mandatory quarantine, Reuters reported. He was not symptomatic as of Saturday, according to officials.

Jin, 29, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, tested negative for COVID-19 as he left quarantine, but later tested positive after he began to experience mild symptoms, Reuters reported.

Earlier this month, officials with Big Hit Music said BTS was taking a break ahead of the anticipated launch of the group’s next album in March. Big Hit Music officials said neither Suga, RM or Jin had contact with any of the other four members of BTS after returning to South Korea, according to Reuters.
