Coronavirus: Oxford University to test AstraZeneca vaccine on children

Researchers at the University of Oxford have started a study on the effects of the coronavirus vaccine it developed with AstraZeneca.

The university said the trial will determine the efficacy of the vaccine on children aged 6 to 17, Reuters reported.

There are 300 patients enrolled in the trial. The first inoculations are expected to be given later this month, the BBC reported.

AstraZeneca has plans to produce 200 million doses by April and 3 billion by year’s end, Reuters reported.
