Cruises can easily turn from a dream trip to a nightmare if you get sick. And we’re not talking about normal queasiness of seasickness, we’re talking about outbreaks that could land you and your family in quarantine.
But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have tips on keeping you and your family healthy while sailing the high seas.
Contact the cruise line to see if there are other options than getting on the ship sick and check with your doctor to see if it is safe to sail.
You can stop the spread of germs if you do proper handwashing after visiting the bathroom and before you eat.
Drink water to prevent dehydration and get rest to get your immune system back on track
The CDC says if someone is sick, don’t stick around. Leave the area as soon as you can and don’t expose yourself to the illness.
Don’t forget, to tell someone if someone is vomiting or suffering from other gastrointestinal issues.
