‘Call of Duty’ adds Black Lives Matter screen to game

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” has been updated to include a screen that supports the Black Lives Matter movement.

It is also taking steps to remove players who are racist.

The game, produced by Infinity Ward, now has a black screen that says “Our community is hurting. The systemic inequalities our community experiences are once again center stage.”

It continues, “Call of Duty and Infinity Ward stand for equality and inclusion. We stand against the racism and injustice our Black community endures. Until change happens and Black Lives Matter, we will never truly be the community we strive to be.”

The screen was included in the game’s latest update, CNN reported.

The company said Wednesday it is finding and removing racist content. “We are issuing thousands of daily bans of racist and hate-oriented names. But we know we have to do more.”

The company was going to launch new products this week but delayed the releases due to the protests, CNN reported.
