Man accused of sexually assaulting 3-week-old baby

YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. — A California man is behind bars after investigators said he sexually assaulted a 3-week-old baby.

According to KNBC and KESQ, Keith Russell Tyerman, 33, of Yucca Valley, is facing multiple sex charges, including sexual penetration or oral copulation with a child and lewd acts on a child. He also was charged with child porn possession, exhibiting or publishing child sexual content and using a child for commercial sex acts, KNBC reported.

Tyerman’s arrest came Nov. 10 after Riverside County authorities investigated the reported sexual assault, the news outlets reported. Detectives later learned that the incident occurred in San Bernardino County, where deputies removed the newborn from a Yucca Valley home during a welfare check, authorities said.

Tyerman, who is scheduled to appear in court next month, remains jailed on $3 million bail, according to the news outlets.
