DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A 10-year-old boy died Saturday after he was caught in a rip current off a Florida beach, authorities said.
According to WFTV, the boy was swimming about 100 yards offshore in Daytona Beach with two other people when they were caught in the current.

Lifeguards with Volusia County Beach Safety managed to bring the three swimmers back to shore, but the boy was pronounced dead after arriving at a Daytona Beach hospital, according to WFTV.
Volusia County lifeguards said they rescued 53 people from the ocean on Saturday, the television station reported.
