CANTON, Miss. — Santa’s elves are already out in full force, and more than 300 Mississippi shoppers have the receipts to prove the generosity is pure.
An anonymous donor reportedly walked into a Walmart in Canton, Mississippi, this week and asked to pay off all items the store was holding for customers on layaway plans, WLBT reported.
According to the mega-retailer, the store had about 330 layaway tickets with outstanding balances, and the good Samaritan’s donation took care of them all with a little cash to spare, the TV station reported.
Walmart, in turn, donated the extra cheer to two local toy drives and made an offering to Feed America, MagnoliaStateLive.com reported.
