The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department was holding its annual event Saturday when a sheriff’s helicopter tried to land on the police station’s rooftop helipad, KCOP reported.

The air from the helicopter caused the bounce house, and the children inside, to lift off the ground, KABC reported.

Several canopies were also lifted into the air.

Three children were hurt, but a fourth child who was in the bounce house did not need medical attention, police said.

A parent of one of the children who was hurt said they had no warning about the helicopter, but the sheriff’s office said the helicopter was part of the event’s publicity, KABC reported.

The sheriff and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating, KTLA reported.
