TOLEDO, Ohio — Two boys were killed and another was critically injured when gunfire erupted in an Ohio apartment last week, authorities said.

According to WTOL and WTVG, the deadly shooting occurred Friday evening in the Byrneport Apartments neighborhood in Toledo. Toledo police responded to find three boys who had been shot, the news outlets reported.
Emergency crews rushed the boys to a nearby hospital, where two of them – 5-year-old Ahmir Phillips and 1-year-old Gabriel Phillips – died, police said. The third boy, 4-year-old Ashton Phillips, was critically injured, underwent surgery and is now in stable condition, the outlets reported.
A medical examiner found that Ahmir and Gabriel died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide, according to WTOL.
Police have arrested 27-year-old Kevin Moore, who is in a relationship with the boys’ mother, on aggravated murder and felonious assault charges in connection with the shooting, the news outlets reported. He remains in the Lucas County Jail, according to WTOL.
