A 19-year-old woman called Corpus Christi police around 12 a.m. Saturday after she said she found Daniel Powell asleep in her bed. She told officers that Powell moved out of their apartment three weeks earlier, turned in his keys and no longer had access to the apartment.

When police arrived, they found Powell asleep in the woman’s bed. On the end of the bed, officers found spaghetti that he had apparently been eating from the victim’s fridge.

Investigators determined that Powell climbed onto the apartment’s balcony, broke a window by forcing it open and got into the apartment.

"The suspect then went through her apartment eating her food, moving her purse and taking approximately $100," police said in a patrol report.

Authorities said they found pills and marijuana on Powell during his arrest and learned that he had two outstanding warrants. He was arrested on charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
