Jonathan Decorah is accused of taking $5,964 from Ben Franklin Bank in Rolling Meadows, according to a complaint filed Monday by the FBI. Decorah, 43, allegedly took a Lyft ride to the bank and arrived there around 9:35 a.m. Saturday.

He handed a teller a note that said, "Give me all the money or I’ll blow your head off. I got two guys outside with machine guns,” according to the complaint. He allegedly kept his right hand in his jacket.

A bank employee recognized Decorah as a customer because of his voice and his "distinct, crooked nose," the complaint said.

The bank manager noticed the teller was acting strangely and also recognized Decorah as a customer, according to the complaint. The teller, the manager and another employee later identified Decorah in a lineup, the FBI said.

The manager watched Decorah leave the bank and get into a car with a ride-share sticker on it, the complaint said. It turned out to be a Lyft.

Police found and arrested Decorah shortly after 2 p.m. at O'Hare Airport. He admitted to the robbery and to sending photos of the stolen money to a friend, the FBI said.
