Brody Allen passed away around 6 a.m. Friday, his father, Todd Allen, posted on Facebook

"This morning at 6 a.m. Brody passed quietly, and peacefully in the arms of his mother Shilo," Allen wrote. "He did not suffer. He was surrounded by his family and I have no doubt many angels. While our sadness is immeasurable and we will miss his smiling beautiful soul, we are also comforted in knowing that today our son has touched the face of God."

Oncologists in Cincinnati told Brody’s parents in August that the toddler had less than two months to live. Doctors originally believed the boy had an ear infection, but it was something much worse as specialists discovered that Brody was born with an aggressive brain cancer that grew into four untreatable tumors, WCPO reported.

Allen said his son’s cancer -- embryonal tumor with multilayered rosettes --- is so rare that only 300 other people have been diagnosed with the condition, WCPO reported.

In September, Brody’s family decided to bring the Christmas holidays to him, decorating their home with lights, candy canes and polar bears, the television station reported.

Hundreds of people in Brody’s hometown of Colerain Township staged a Christmas parade last month, WCPO reported.

Colerain Township officials on Friday set aside a location for well-wishers to leave memorials, the television station reported. All items left there will be given to the Allen family, police said.

"It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Brody Allen," Colerain Township said in a news release. "Brody captured our attention and love over the past few months as he and his family bravely battled the disease that has ultimately taken his life."
