Two people are dead after an accident in Thurston County on Monday.
The accident occurred on Rainier Road at Spurgeon Creek Road in Thurston County.
A preliminary investigation showed that a recklessly driven Ford Focus was traveling south on Rainier Road Southeast at a high speed and also passing traffic on the shoulder of the road, according to witnesses. The car crossed the centerline and struck a Volkswagen Jetta traveling in the opposite direction that had two people in the car.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The adult passenger of the Jetta was taken to the hospital.
