Two arrested in string of burglaries at Centralia businesses

A St. Louis police officer is accused of driving a van too roughly to punish two prisoners, court documents claim.

CENTRALIA, Wash. — Investigators in Centralia arrested two people Monday in connection with a string of burglaries at businesses in the city in the last several weeks.

Patrol officers worked to identify the suspects, and members of the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team were assigned to help the officers find them.

On Monday, the narcotics enforcement team went to a home in the 500 block of South Rock Street in Centralia looking for one of the suspects and arrested two people there who had outstanding warrants.

A search warrant for the home was obtained and detectives found property and evidence directly related to the burglaries that happened not only in Centralia, but also Chehalis and Thurston County as well, according to officers.

One of the items recovered during the search was a handgun that investigators said had been stolen in one of the burglaries and may be related to a recent crime in another county.

While at the home, two more people were arrested on burglary charges.

All four people were booked into the Lewis County Jail.
