Three arrested in connection with Tacoma murder

TACOMA, Wash. — Three suspects are in custody in connection with a recent homicide in Tacoma, police said Thursday.

Officers with the Tacoma Police Department said they responded to a report that someone had been shot around 1 a.m. Jan. 5 in the 3800 block of N. 21st Street.

Police said a victim was found at the scene and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The unidentified victim, a 25-year-old man, later died of his injuries, police said.

“Tacoma Police detectives determined through subsequent investigation that the shooting incident was a homicide,” a spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department wrote in a news release.

Detectives said they served two search warrants this week related to the investigation and took three suspects into custody.

According to police, two of the suspects were booked into the Pierce County Jail on investigation of second-degree murder and one suspect was booked on investigation of first-degree manslaughter. Their names were not immediately released.

Police said the investigation is still active and ongoing.
