• Pierce County depuites search for Spanaway bank robbery suspect

    SPANAWAY, Wash. - The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing a Key Bank.

    The man reportedly walked into the bank located in the 17600 block of Pacific Avenue South at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in Spanaway.

    The man handed the teller a note demanding cash and kept one of his hands in his coat pocket, possibly implying he was armed, investigators said.

    Investigators said he fled the bank with the money in an older, black, four-door Honda sedan.

    The man is described as white and was wearing a latex-type mask over his face and ears, with a red bandana covering the top of his head.

    He also had on a tan hooded coat, black jeans, white gloves, black sunglasses and an orange and yellow construction-style vest.

    Anyone with information that could lead to the man’s arrest is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
