Reward offered in Tacoma fatal stabbing

TACOMA, Wash. — Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County is offering a reward in the homicide investigation of 44-year-old Lamont Rushton.

Rushton was stabbed last Thursday on a bridge near 26th Street East in Tacoma and made it to a nearby business in the 100 block of the street, where someone called for help at 11:15 p.m., police said.

Rushton was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

A possible suspect was seen walking away from the stabbing scene but was only described as someone wearing dark clothing. A search was conducted, but no one was found.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on a suspicious person or vehicles seen in the area of the pedestrian overpass near 26th Street E. to come forward.

Up to a $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and charges filed for the person responsible for Rushton’s death.
