Tacoma police want help identifying suspect in man's murder

A man is dead after shots were fired from a car in Tacoma late Wednesday.

Police were called to a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of South M Street but found no victims.

At 11:10 p.m., a 28-year-old man, identified by police as Robert Doss II, and a 20-year-old woman showed up at a hospital.

The man was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m.  The woman has a minor injury.

Tacoma police are asking for help from the public identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for the man's murder.

Tacoma police found the probable crime scene near 1400 South L Street. Investigators say a drive-by shooting had happened there.

The investigation closed L street at 14th.

Police said Doss and his female friend were shot while they were sitting in a green 2004 Ford Explorer parked at the intersection of S. 14th Street and L. Street in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma.

There is no suspect description at this time.
