83-year-old man assaulted in attempted robbery in Tacoma

A man attempted to rob an 83-year-old man after punching him in the face in Tacoma on Thursday, and police are asking the public’s help to identify the man.

Around 12:55 p.m. on Thursday, an unknown man approached the 83-year-old man at the Commerce Street Transit Center in Tacoma, punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground.

He demanded money from the victim, who said he had none.

The man walked away towards Pacific Avenue South.

The man is described as a Black male; 30 to 35-years-old; 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall and bald.
