• 7-year-old hit by vehicle while trick-or-treating in Tacoma


    TACOMA, Wash. - A 7-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle while trick-or-treating Monday night in Tacoma, police said.

    The boy was hit at about 7:20 p.m. at North Ninth and I streets.

    He was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and is in critical condition.

    Police said the driver tried to leave the scene but witnesses detained him. He was arrested for vehicular assault and suspected DUI. 

    Police had originally reported that the victim was a girl. They later confirmed the victim is a boy.
