Seattle School Board Approves Amended High School Growth Plan

Wednesday night the Seattle School Board voted to pass an amended version of the 2019-20 high school growth boundaries plan unanimously.
Enrollment in Seattle Public Schools has grown by 8,000 students in the past decade. Because of this growth a new high school, Lincoln High School, will open next school year. And an addition to add capacity at Ingraham high school will also be completed. That means high school boundaries will also change.
Amendments to the original plan would affect some Dual Language Immersion Students as well as giving some students classified as ‘\highly capable students more options through open enrollment.
