VERLOT, Wash. - A 41 year-old Ellensburg woman and her two dogs who were stuck at 4,000 feet at Headlee Pass near Vesper Peak in eastern Snohomish County were rescued overnight.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said she was reached by a member of a helicopter rescue crew who helped her climb down on foot.

They all arrived at the base camp around midnight.  One crew member was slightly injured during the operation when a large boulder came loose and struck him, but his injuries are minor.

Spokeswoman Shari Ireton said the woman was unhurt but told the crew she couldn't  climb down because her two dogs were unable to descend in the steep terrain and they were too big to be carried safely.

A search effort was launched after two other climbers in the area earlier Tuesday heard a woman call for help and alerted authorities.
