Puyallup police looking for tips in 1992 case of missing girl

PUYALLUP, Wash. — The Puyallup Police Department is asking for the public’s help from anyone who was at or around the Puyallup (Washington State) Fair on Sept. 17, 1992.

Investigators are working the Misty Copsey cold case and are seeking any videos or photos that were taken on that date in or around the fairgrounds.

Copsey was 14 when she disappeared after missing a bus home from the Puyallup Fair.

According to the Tacoma News Tribune, police insisted the girl was a runaway, but years later revisited the case as a homicide.

Any photos or video may provide new information about Copsey’s activities and contacts on the day she disappeared 21 years ago.

Photos and videos police are seeking would include other fairgoers in the images that were not with your known party or family.

The main musical attraction for the evening was Huey Lewis & The News.

Any pictures or video can be emailed to Detective D. Bourbon  at donb@ci.puyallup.wa.us or mailed to 311 W. Pioneer,  Puyallup, WA 98371,  Attention Detective Bourbon.
