Postal carrier injured in Belltown hit-and-run

SEATTLE — Police have taken into custody a suspect in a hit-and-run collision in Belltown.

A postal carrier was "pinched" between his mail van and another car at Second Avenue and Blanchard, the Fire Department said on its Twitter account.

The letter carrier, a man in his 50s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with lower body injuries.  He was in stable condition, firefighters said.

Medics also evaluated a 17-year-old female pedestrian who saw the collision and chased after a car. She was either bumped or dragged by a car causing minor scrapes and bumps, firefighters said.
