BLAINE, Wash. - A porpoise was saved on Thursday night, after becoming stuck in shallow waters.
Employees with Semiahmoo Resort in Whatcom County raced to the beach area where the porpoise was, and moved the creature swiftly back into the water.
They contacted the Whatcom Marine Mammal Stranding Network for instructions on how to keep the tiny porpoise wet and breathing. Team members responded to evaluate the animal and decide what should be done.
In the video the resort employees provided of the rescue, he ‘can be seen swimming away happily,’ wrote an official at the resort.
