Third suspect arrested for robbery, kidnapping and rape in Bothell

BOTHELL, Wash. — A third suspect in the assault, robbery, kidnapping and rape of a woman in Bothell on July 8 was arrested by the Snohomish County sheriff’s office on Thursday.

Two Bothell men were arrested July 8 after the robbery and kidnapping of a 31-year-old woman in Bothell earlier that morning.

Around 11 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a reported assault on the 2100 block of 180th Street SE in Bothell, where the woman told deputies earlier that morning she was approached near the 100 block of 194th Street SE, thrown to the ground, pistol-whipped, robbed, sexually assaulted and robbed of her possessions.

The victim told detectives she was zip-tied, duct-taped, blindfolded and forced into a vehicle, where she was held at gunpoint and driven to an apartment complex in Bothell, then pushed out of the vehicle.

She was later seen walking down the road, where she was spotted by a nearby resident who called 911.

She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Around 6 p.m. on July 8, detectives located a 27-year-old man outside his home in Bothell and took him into custody.

Around 11:30 p.m., detectives then located and arrested a 35-year-old man at a motel in Lynnwood, where a handgun believed to have been used in the incident was found.

A third man was located arrested at an apartment in Everett around 2 p.m. on Thursday.

The 36-year-old Snohomish man was booked into the Snohomish County jail for first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery and assault in the second-degree.

A search of the third man’s apartment turned up two guns, one of which is believed to be used in the assault, and a second gun that was reported stolen out of Seattle in 2020.

Detectives say the victim and suspects know each other.

Additional information in the investigation may lead to an arson charge related to the investigation.
